The pilot program launched in 2017, helps employers in Atlantic Canada hire foreign skilled workers who want to immigrate to Atlantic Canada and international graduates who want to stay in Atlantic Canada after they graduate. Due to its success, the government has committed to making this pilot a permanent program. It is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and international graduates who want to work and live in one of Canada’s 4 Atlantic Provinces including Newfoundland & Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. To immigrate to Atlantic Canada through the pilot, one must be a recent graduate of a publicly funded institution in Atlantic Canada or a skilled worker who meets the program requirements. The person must receive a job offer from a designated employer in Atlantic Canada to participate in the pilot. Work experience in managerial cadre, graduation or higher from a recognized university, linguistic ability, job offer from a qualified employer and funds to support are basic requirements.
